Our Volunteers |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
What makes West Reading Fire Department great, like any other organization, is its people. We are very proud of the diverse group of volunteers who have come together as a team to protect the lives and property of West Reading and its surrounding areas. We salute the dedicated men and women who make up our company: the firefighters, fire police, junior firefighters, and semi-active (fund-raising) members who keep our company strong!
Below is some information about just a few of the many fine volunteers in our company. Through this page we hope to remind everyone that firefighters are people too, with families, jobs, hobbies and interests just like yours! Be sure to check back to this page in the future, because information about more of our volunteers will be added as it is submitted to us. You never know, you might just see someone you recognize!
Below the personal information you'll find photos of our volunteers serving their company and their community through firefighting, training and fund raising activities.
(All information and photos have been provided by the members. Email addresses listed are of the individual member's personal email account. Any questions or fire department related business can be related to any of our officers or members through our company secretary.)

Military History: Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan; Camp Lejeune, NC. |

|
Why I joined the military: I wanted to go somewhere with my life and I feel I made the right choice. My goals are to finish my term in two years and I should have an Associate Degree in Fire Science by the time I get out. When I get out, I plan to get a job either with the city (Reading) fire department or police department. |

"I'd also like to say...people need to support our troops and pray for their safe return. We are here for you and to provide freedom for everyone. Just remember, if it wasn't for the men and women who serve today you wouldn't have freedom. |

|
Favorite Quote: "I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to someone who rises and falls under the very blanket of freedom I provide and then question it in the way I provide it. I'd rather you said thank you and be on your way or pick up a weapon and stand the post. Either way I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to." Col. Nathan R. Jessop |
