WRFD Banquet 2013

Saturday, February 9, 2013  The members of the company gathered for the 2013 Firefighter's Appreciation Banquet at Chef Alan's on Penn Ave in the borough.  We celebrated the accomplishments of the members over the last year and had some great food and great entertainment.

In the awards presentation portion of the banquet we honored Ronald Adams 41 years of dedicated service to the department. Ronnie was promoted to the rank of Captain for the day and he was presented with a leather helmet that unfortunately was not ready at the time of the banquet.  Congratulations Captain Adams!

The Firefighter of the year for 2013 was firefighter Tim Lambert. Firefighter Lambert is currently serving his country in the Marine Corps so his award was accepted by his mother Stacy Delinko.

The Fire Police officer of the year was Lieutenant Peter Goda. Lieutenant Goda is the first two-time winner of the award. He also won the award in 2011.

After the event was over many of the members participated in moonlight bowling at Berks Lanes. Thanks to the crew from the Exeter Township Fire Department who provided coverage for the borough while we celebrated!

Kiddie's Christmas Party a great success!

Saturday, December 15, 2012   Today Santa made his way down from the North Pole to the WRFD for a visit. He spent an hour or so driving around the Borough in Engine 64 and then spent 2 hours visiting with the children of the Borough.  Thanks to all of the members and other volunteers who made this event possible once again.

At the end of the event we received word that the Wyomissing Spartan football team, who won the state AA championship game in Hershey, PA that afternoon, would be returning home that evening. Company 64 went to the Wyomissing High School to assist in welcoming our team home.  Way to go Spartans!
