Album: Training |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Since Squad 64 has become Rescue 64 and is now equipped with tools we can use to perform vehicle rescues and other types of rescue work, it's important that our firefighters are fully trained, not only in the proper use of the tools, but in all other aspects of properly performing rescues. The photos below are of one recent rescue training class in which some of WRFD's volunteers were joined by volunteers from Township of Spring Volunteer Fire Department and the Gouglersville and Cedar Top Fire Companies from Cumru Township.

Firefighters from Spring and Cumru Townships are shown here making sure the upside-down vehicle is secure and stable while WRFD firefighters enter to assess the status of the "victims" inside. |
|
The vehicle is stabilized from every angle. Some firefighters double-check the wooden cribbing and the chains and "come-alongs" used to stabilize the car, while others check on the status of the patients inside the car and begin to make efforts to remove them. |

The car is secure and the patients are being attended. The
firefighters are almost ready to remove the "victims." |
