In November, 2003, the West Reading Diner, a locally-owned 24-hour eatery and a fixture in West Reading, suffered serious damage in the fire pictured below. Crews from West Reading, Wyomissing, Kenhorst and Reading Fire Departments battled the stubborn blaze for hours. Fortunately, the restaurant has since been repaired and re-opened.
