The West Reading Fire Department, in conjunction with several businesses in West Reading and adjoining areas, are in their fourth year of the "Firefighter Trading Cards." The goal of the cards is to promote an interest in, and an awareness of fire safety, as well as to increase interest in becoming part of the volunteer fire department among our potential future members. Several members made contacts with businesses and asked them to sponsor the cost of publishing their trading cards. On the front is the firefighter's picture, name and rank. On the back of the cards is a little information about the firefighter along with a personal message and the sponsor's name, address and phone number. This is an ongoing project and a new set of cards is produced each year for initial distribution during Fire Prevention Week. Our sincere gratitude goes out to the sponsors for their ongoing support of our volunteer fire department.
You can get copies of our Firefighter Trading Cards by stopping by our station, 223 Playground Drive, West Reading, on any Wednessday night at about 6:00 PM prior to the start of our weekly training, or the second Monday of each month at 6:30 prior to the start of our monthly business meeting, or at any of our oother events on our Calendar.
