The WRFD was proud to represent the citizens of Berks County and the
entire USA in showing our gratitude to our troops who came home from
their peacekeeping mission in Kosovo! We did our best to give them a
warm welcome by helping the Kutztown Fire Company form a flag-draped
arch with our two ladder trucks.

The entrance to the Kutztown Armory of the National Guard was appropriately decorated. |
|
An American flag was flown from the arch formed by Kutztown's Ladder 46 and West Reading's Truck 64. The procession carrying the troops would be passing beneath this arch. |
|
The chartered buses carrying the troops home were escorted by local police. |
|
Patriotic residents of Kutztown, as well as friends and relatives of the returning troops, turned out to give them a warm welcome home. |
|
Members of West Reading and Kutztown fire companies in attendance showed their respect to those who protect our freedom as the troops passed by. |

Team members of the mighty READING
ROYALS hockey team were kind enough
to pose for these two pictures with WRFD's Truck 64 recently. Thanks! And...GO
ROYALS!!! |

On a night of hydrant flushing (routine semi-annual maintenance and inspection of the Borough's fire hydrants), firefighter Geneva Quattrock is assisted in closing the hydrant by one of the Borough's younger residents (and hopefully a future firefighter!). |
